The Sledgehammers have started off the season working hard both on fitness and technical skills.
Though practice is held inside due to weather, the Hammers are able to log successful hours. This season, the team will be participating in a sevens tournament for the first time! Though it is new for a majority of the players, the team is excited to be playing sevens. In the past months of practice, the coaches have focused on general skills such as passing, quick decision making, communication, rucking, and teamwork as well as sevens-specific skills such as the different lineouts and scrums. The Sledgehammers have made vast progress in learning and playing sevens and are excited for next weekend's tournament!

Ruck Rochester
On April 15th, the Sledgehammers are hosting our 6th Annual Ruck Rochester Tournament! The money we raise goes towards tournament entry fees, coaches' salaries, and fall season dues to the National Small College Rugby Organization. As a club team, we receive limited monetary aid from the school, so it is your donations that keep us going. Thanks to our generous donors, we raised over $4,000 last year! This money allowed us to update our medical kit, buy team water bottles, and travel to games. This year we are hoping that your donations will help us surpass that amount. The donor letters have already been sent out so you hopefully have seen yours in the mail! If you would rather donate online you can go to this link: https://www.youcaring.com/univer sityofrochesterwomensclubrugbyteam-757627 Your donations are greatly appreciated!
